Serve as the receptionist for two academic areas: answer telephone, greet visitors, answer questions or refer, and schedule appointments. Schedule conference rooms and coordinate conference calls. Maintain office files and records; enter data/information on computer; distribute mail; duplicate and collate material. Assist with events and other administrative tasks as needed. Inventory, order and store general office supplies. Register students for courses during drop/add period, co-ordinate collection of syllabi, mid-semester evaluations and final exam schedule. Administer SRTE distribution, collection, processing, data entry and re-distribution of tabulated results to instructors. Process textbook and desk copy orders.
Coordinate grade submission process for Philosophy including sending reminders and deadlines for e-lion submission, monitoring grade entries, and providing instruction when necessary. Process and maintain updates to the faculty/staff directories to include office hours. Coordinate mass mailings and mass copying. Operate and maintain a variety of office equipment and provide assistance to faculty and students as needed. Maintain display cases and departmental listings.
Maintain departmental records in accordance with unit needs and University policies. Provide support to other staff as needed. Requires High School diploma or GED, plus one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with flexibility in handling multiple tasks and a strong commitment to teamwork required. Familiarity with a student information mainframe is preferred.
