Junior Engineering Aide

Responsibilities include: assist in the layout of hardware designs, both mechanical and electrical; assist in the layout of wiring diagrams and circuitry using standard PWB layout tools and programs, such as Visio or AutoCAD; purchase parts, components, and subassemblies from Bill of Materials (BOM); fabricate wiring harnesses and printed wiring assemblies; and assist in the collection of data, recording results, and compiling/organizing results for review with engineers. Requires Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechanical, a technical or administrative program, or equivalent or experience.

Military experience preferred. Light physical effort required to assemble and/or operate lab equipment. Experience in assisting with electronics design, assembly, repair, and calibration of sonar equipment is required.
The successful candidate must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.), MATLAB, and computer-aided design tools. The ability to work independently to solve design issues and/or troubleshoot hardware is preferred. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. U.S. Citizenship required.
