Engineering Aide

Responsibilities include: lead in the layout of hardware designs, both mechanical and electrical; lead in the layout of wiring diagrams and circuitry using standard PWB layout tools and programs such as Visio or AutoCAD; purchase parts, components, and subassemblies from Bill of Materials (BOM); fabricate wiring harnesses and printed wiring assemblies; lead in the collection of date, recording results and compiling/organizing results for review with engineers; and direct activities of other engineering aides.

Requires Associate’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, a technical or administrative program or equivalent, plus one year of work-related experience. Light physical effort required to assemble and/or operate lab equipment. Experience in the lead of electronics design, assembly, repair, and calibration of sonar equipment is required.
The successful candidate must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.), MATLAB, and computer-aided design tools. The ability to work independently to solve design issues and/or troubleshoot hardware is preferred. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. U.S. Citizenship required.
