Assistant for Program Development

The successful candidate will support program and business development and provide program management support for the Undersea Weapons Office (UWO) of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL).

Two main areas of responsibilities include: assist the Program Manager in implementation of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) in the UWO to include, but not limited to, assisting the Principal Investigators in the preparation and execution of program plans, schedules, and budgets and supporting the functional line management to identify and fill staffing positions to successfully execute the program within identified resources and to approved cost, technical, and schedule milestones; and act as a Program Manager for programs of various sizing and complexity across the product lines within the UWO, including support of Acquisition Program Reviews (such as system requirements revisions, preliminary and critical design reviews, etc.) and Program Manager Reviews to the Navy Program Office and other sponsors and facilitating the successful completion of program deliverables with high technical quality and within cost and schedules.

Requires Master’s degree or equivalent, plus five years of work-related experience.
A graduate of the Defense Acquisition University Program Manager course is preferred. A working familiarity of EVMS is required. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
