The Bryce Jordan Center and Medlar Field at Lubrano Park are seeking an individual to manage the food and beverage operations at both facilities.
Responsibilities include preparing specifications for products and equipment, reviewing and evaluating quotations received, ordering items as needed; hiring, training, supervising and evaluating the performance of part-time and volunteer staff; managing cash accountability and inventory; aggressively managing relationships with prospective food suppliers and vendors to secure attractive pricing on all food and beverage products; maintaining concession facilities to a high standard; maintaining good working order and coordinating the maintenance program; overseeing all safety and sanitation procedures, as well as concession construction and additions; developing and recommending new concepts, policies and procedures and making recommendations for future development; directing and analyzing budget and marketing activities and approving expenditures; coordinating, supervising and implementing the concession operations; maintaining contact with vendors that supply and maintain concession products and equipment; providing training to all food and beverage employees to ensure a high level of customer service; exploring creative ways to promote food items and specials at concession stands and throughout the facility.
Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus three years of work-related experience. This job will require evening and weekend hours based upon event schedules. This is a nine month appointment with The Pennsylvania State University and a separate three month appointment with Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The successful candidate will be employed by The Pennsylvania State University from September through May and employed by Medlar Field at Lubrano Park from June through August.
