Engineering Aide

Responsible for equipment and component design modification, testing, installation, operation, and management of experimental parts, components, and equipment. Assist in design of experimental hardware, ensuring compatible interfacing between subsystems. Propose layout, fabrication, components, etc., for experimental hardware that will satisfy design tolerances and operational specifications.

Ensure schedules are met and consult with supervisor if delays are anticipated. Design, layout, fabricate, and assemble standard equipment and components. Ensure proper operation of, calibrate, operate, and manage experimental hardware in the laboratory or in the field. Assist with the collection, processing, compiling, and analysis of test data and with the preparation of project documentation.
Requires Associate’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, a technical or administrative program or equivalent, plus one year of work-related experience. Light physical effort is required to assemble and/or operate lab equipment. Experience in operating electronic test equipment, the ability to assemble and test electronic circuitry, and computer literacy is preferred. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. U.S. Citizenship required.
