Engineering Aide

The Algorithms and Analysis Department is looking for a talented Engineering Aide to work with a team of engineers and analysts to prototype and test systems and to assist in writing reports and proposals.

Responsibilities will include: laying out hardware designs, both mechanical and electrical; laying out wiring diagrams and circuitry using standard PCB layout tools; purchasing parts, components, and subassemblies from a bill of materials (BOM); fabricating wiring harnesses and printed wiring assemblies; installing, calibrating, operating and maintaining experimental equipment and experimental hardware in the laboratory or in the field; assisting with the collecting, processing, compiling, and analyzing test data; and documenting work using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).
Requires Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent, plus one year of work-related experience. Light physical effort required to assemble and/or operate lab equipment. Some travel may be required. The candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. U.S. Citizenship is required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
